WayV announces eighth mini album ‘Vision Wings’ for August 10 release
WayV has confirmed their comeback with the eighth mini album, ‘Vision Wings’, set to release on August 10. This marks their first musical offering in eight months since their winter special album, ‘白色定格 (Eternal White)’, which was released in December 2022.
The new mini album will be available digitally at 6 PM KST on August 10, with physical copies also hitting stores the same day. ‘Vision Wings’ features seven tracks, including both Chinese and English versions of the title track, “鸢 (Vision Wings)”, catering to their international audience.
The album’s unique concept incorporates Chinese characters that have the same pronunciation but different meanings as keywords for each song. Words such as ‘鸢’ (kite), ‘源’ (origin), ‘圆’ (completeness), ‘元’ (beginning), ‘愿’ (wish), and ‘园’ (paradise) are central to the album’s narrative, offering a deep message about the strength that drives WayV.
WayV has shown their global appeal with their last release, ‘白色定格 (Eternal White)’, which topped QQ Music’s digital album sales and EP charts, earning a ‘Gold Album’ certification for over 250,000 yuan in sales. The album also achieved number one on the iTunes Top Albums charts in nine regions and made the Top 10 in fifteen regions worldwide.
