Seventeen’s DK and Vernon to begin military service Aug 20 and Sept 8

Seventeen‘s DK will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the South Korean Army on September 8, and Vernon will begin his alternative military service on August 20.
On July 27, Pledis Entertainment posted a notice titled “SEVENTEEN DK and Vernon Military Service Information” on the fan communication platform Weverse.
The agency said DK will finish all scheduled activities before his enlistment. Pledis added there will be no separate public event on his enlistment day and asked fans not to visit the training center, explaining the ceremony is private and involves many recruits and family members.
Vernon will begin alternative service on August 20. Pledis also asked fans to refrain from visiting the workplace where he will be assigned while he serves.
Pledis noted that once both members start their military duties, they will not be able to take part in Seventeen’s group activities. The agency said they will continue to connect with fans, known as CARAT, through pre-recorded content.
Pledis Entertainment wrote:
“We ask for your continued love and support so that DK and Vernon can fulfill their military duties and return in good health“.
The group’s military enlistment period began in 2024. Jeonghan completed alternative military service and was discharged last month, while Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are currently serving their mandatory military duties.
