RESCENE earns first major network music show win with Pretty Girl

RESCENE earned their first major network music program trophy on the July 25 broadcast of MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ when their hit track ‘Pretty Girl’ took the top spot, beating out aespa’s ‘Lemonade’ and Yeonjun’s ‘Ice Cream’.
Rookie girl group RESCENE had previously earned a music show win on SBS Life’s ‘The Show’ on the 14th with the same title track, and their MBC victory adds a historic major network triumph to their resume, beautifully wrapping up a successful first chapter of their career.
The group’s rise is tied to steady, long-term growth where viral self-produced content on social media translated into wider public recognition and strong digital chart performance.
The momentum originally kicked off in March when member Woni uploaded a short-form video titled Geoje Yaho alongside fellow member Minami on her personal YouTube channel, which quickly blew up and surpassed 10 million views.
Thanks to their hilarious chemistry and regional dialect banter between Woni and Zena, the channel surpassed 1.5 million subscribers, driving a massive influx of new fans. Powered by this surge in popularity, RESCENE landed appearances on flagship variety shows such as MBC’s Omniscient Interfering View and were appointed as honorary ambassadors for their respective hometowns of Geoje, Suwon, Gyeongju, and Goyang.
The viral online interest naturally transitioned into music consumption, culminating in top chart positions and now a prized major network music show trophy.

Meanwhile, the July 25 broadcast of ‘Show! Music Core’ featured a diverse lineup of performances including J.Y. Park, U-Know Yunho, Sunmi, Hyolyn, Wonho, fromis_9, BBGIRLS, Jeon Yu-jin, Oh Yu-jin, FIFTY FIFTY, 8TURN, and LUN8.
