During the broadcast, Young Ji said the stalking began in 2016 and continued for seven years. The person repeatedly targeted her and her family. They followed Young Ji and repeatedly visited the cafe run by her family, leaving the family traumatized.

Young Ji said her parents at first appreciated the attention, thinking the person was a normal fan. The stalker then took that as proof of a “special” relationship between them and the idol.

The individual also tracked down sensitive personal information about Young Ji’s family, including their license plate numbers. The stalker obtained contact numbers for her relatives.

Heo Young Ji: “They harassed my older sister and even contacted my parents,”

After other fans called the person out, the stalker sent Young Ji a letter with a violent threat.

Heo Young Ji: “I want to kill everyone who is jealous of the relationship between us.”

Her account left the show’s cast members shocked. The cast included Jun Hyun Moo, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, and rapper Nucksal.

Young Ji said she consulted a lawyer in 2020. She added it was difficult to pursue legal punishment because no bodily harm had been inflicted and the anti-stalking laws had not been enacted at that time.
