Jungkook’s “Standing Next to You” surpasses 1.5 billion Spotify streams
BTS member Jungkook‘s solo song “Standing Next to You” surpassed 1.5 billion cumulative streams on Spotify as of July 27, Spotify reported.
The track is the title song from Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN‘ and is his second single to pass the 1.5 billion mark on Spotify, after “Seven.”
Released in 2023, “Standing Next to You” has maintained steady global listening numbers since its debut.
The song delivers a message of unwavering love, promising to stay by a loved one’s side through any hardship. Musically, it updates an old-school disco-funk vibe with polished production that includes full brass sections, punchy percussion, and Jungkook’s groovy vocal delivery.
His 2023 performance at TSX Entertainment in New York’s Times Square drew widespread attention for its commanding stage presence and live standing-microphone choreography, helping cement his status as a global pop star.
On the charts, “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated November 18, 2023, and spent 19 weeks on the chart, making it Jungkook’s longest-charting solo song on the Hot 100. In the United Kingdom, the single entered the Official Singles Top 100 at No. 6 and stayed on that chart for 11 weeks.
The song was also named one of the Most Performed Songs of the Year at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards. It earned Jungkook Top Global K-Pop Song at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards and Best Dance Performance Male Solo at the 2024 MAMA Awards.
