fromis_9’s Park Ji Won makes musical debut as Ally in ‘Hell’s Kitchen’
Park Ji Won of fromis_9 is making her musical debut as Ally in Hell’s Kitchen, which opens today.
Ascend confirmed the role on July 28 and announced Park’s first step into musical theatre.
Ascend announced:
“Park Ji Won will take her first step as a musical actress. She will be performing as Ally in the musical ‘Hell’s Kitchen,’ which opens today.”
Hell’s Kitchen draws inspiration from the life of American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys. The show is set in Manhattan, New York, and focuses on dreams, music, and family.
Park Ji Won will lead the production as Ally, described as a free-spirited and curious young woman who lives alone with her mother. The announcement said she will bring Ally’s journey to life with her signature bright energy.
Park Ji Won commented on her debut:
“I am nervous but even more excited to be stepping onto a musical stage for the first time since my debut,” Park Ji Won said. “I prepared very hard for this, and I hope you will show lots of love and support.”
She will keep promoting with fromis_9 while performing in the musical. fromis_9 returned on July 21 with their second full-length album, Glow ME.
Hell’s Kitchen will run through November 8 at GS Arts Center in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
