allkpop editors pick 10 new tracks from aespa, KARD and Young K
allkpop‘s editors in Korea have compiled a weekly playlist of ten new tracks, including songs from aespa, KARD and Young K.
aespa – Kiss N Tell
The title track of aespa‘s first Japanese mini album, “Kiss N Tell” is a house-based dance-pop song built on bright piano and a danceable beat. The chorus uses soft, delicate harmonies to create a dreamy, futuristic mood and shows aespa’s bubbly, playful side rather than their intense worldbuilding.
George – Hamkkeramyeonyo (feat. Minnie)
The track relies on the warm vocal chemistry between George and Minnie. It highlights the softer side of Minnie’s voice. The music video includes an appearance from Kai of EXO, who was previously seen in JENNIE’s video.
KARD – Back to Life
KARD returned with new music after their contract ended. “Back to Life” is a moombahton-based dancehall track that recalls the group’s early tropical sound. Bright synths meet heavy bass and woodwind textures for a three-dimensional energy, and the group framed the release not as an ending but a new beginning.
Young K (DAY6) – Shut the Door
Young K of DAY6 returns as a soloist. The music video stages moments he has faced and scenes he has dreamed of as an artist through the lens of a sitcom. A recurring door serves as a device to move across different times and spaces.
Bumkey – SPEEED
Veteran R&B vocalist Bumkey is back with new music. An elastic guitar groove and heavy bass support sensual vocals from Bumkey and Justin Park, with a sharp verse from JUSTHIS.
HANRORO – A Cruel Angel’s Thesis
HANRORO offers a Korean-language rendition of “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis,” the 1995 theme by Takahashi Yoko for ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion.’ The song has been a beloved national favorite in Japan for over 30 years and remains one of J-pop’s most iconic anime songs, familiar to younger listeners again through short-form.
Seo Dong Hyun – Flower
Seo Dong Hyun, long active in hip-hop, returns with a summer love song. The music video captures a distinctly Korean nostalgia, while warm synths and featured vocals from Haga evoke Korea’s 70s and 80s.
POW – Flavor
Title track “Flavor” pairs POW‘s easy, refreshing vocal tone with glittering synths and a bouncy beat. Leader Yeochi handled full production, drawing the group’s colors more vividly than before.
HUI – Bingo
A catchy bassline anchors “Bingo” while strings and brass add lift. The track is an upbeat, energetic dance number that carries HUI‘s bright, hopeful sensibility throughout.
Lee Seung Yoon – The Moon Is So Pretty
Lee Seung Yoon, one of Korea’s standout audition stars, released his fourth full album. The song’s lyrical melody and comforting words urge listeners to cherish the people closest to them a little more.
