ENHYPEN’s Jay Responds to Comments on Heeseung’s Departure During Now-Deleted Broadcast

ENHYPEN’s Jay is facing backlash after addressing comments about Heeseung’s departure during a now-deleted live broadcast.

The controversy began on April 20, during Jay’s birthday live stream. Fans flooded the chat with messages referencing “6” and “7,” numbers linked to ENHYPEN’s lineup before and after Heeseung left the group. Jay responded seriously, saying he personally didn’t care but urged fans to stop sending those comments to other members, especially on their birthdays.

Jay said:

What should I do? Some of you guys just like, you don’t care about what the situation is going on.

Some of you just keep saying 6, 7, 6 or 7, ENHYPEN is what? ENHYPEN is what? Like, I am okay, I actually don’t care, ENHYPEN is ENHYPEN, like I actually don’t care. I always try my best to ignore that, so I am okay. But don’t do that to other members, especially at their birthdays. I am okay, but please don’t do that to others.

I really don’t want them to feel that in their birthdays, just thinking is totally free, but if you’re saying that on someone’s birthday, I am saying this again, I am okay. I feel good with all my fans, today was such a happy birthday for me. But I am really nervous that what if other members would feel like depressed in this situation, I really am scared for that. Hopefully I don’t want that to happen in the future.

One thing I want to say is, let’s see the situation. Let’s look around, okay at what is going on. Hopefully, like, yeah. That’s it.

Fans quickly reacted online, expressing anger toward those who kept bombarding the members with insensitive comments despite ENHYPEN continuing as a six-member group.

One fan account tweeted:

i dont have anything to say JAY SAID EVERYTHING NEEDED shame on you people shame on you he said “you keep commenting these numbers to me im okay but dont do it to other members especially on their birthday bc i dont want members to feel depressed or sad so think look around”

Others urged fans to respect the members and stop reading too much into their actions or words.

As the situation unfolded, many noticed the live broadcast was deleted shortly after Jay’s message.

The incident highlights ongoing tensions among fans regarding Heeseung’s departure and the group’s current lineup. Jay’s plea shows the emotional toll such comments can have on idols, especially during personal moments like birthdays.
