BTS’s Jimin Criticized for Lip Syncing During Concert Rehearsals

BTS’s Jimin faces backlash over lip-syncing during rehearsal
BTS member Jimin is facing heavy criticism after a rehearsal clip went viral, sparking accusations of lip-syncing.
The controversy began when fans noticed a strong backing track playing in the background of Jimin’s rehearsal. His voice could be heard clearly even when the microphone wasn’t close to his mouth. This led many to claim he wasn’t singing live, not even during practice.
Fans quickly reacted online with harsh comments. One fan tweeted:
“Lipsynching even at rehearsal is crazy !!”
Another added:
“Lypsync from rehearsals to concerts. First time in history I witnessed this Then his stan will lie about him having a good voice “
Criticism intensified with comments like:
“how bad of a singer you are that you lip sync even on a f*ck!ng sound check???”
Korean netizens also joined the backlash, focusing on the heavy use of AR (auto-reverse) tracks and questioning how much of Jimin’s vocal performance is actually live. Some pointed out that fans pay extra to attend soundchecks, making the lip-sync claims even more shocking.
One Korean netizen wrote:
“Not even realizing it’s his part because HYBE ‘carefully tuned’ the LR for them lol. They’re so dumb they can’t even properly lip-sync or act badly.”
Another added:
“Is turning on AR and then quietly singing backing vocals like a mosquito voice supposed to count as live? lol What even is that vocal range supposed to be? lol The AR on Run BTS was on another level though, they just cranked the volume all the way up.”
Some fans expressed frustration over the situation:
“Some fans are out here saying he’s ‘achieved enlightenment’ in singing, but honestly he only looks like the number one in the lip-syncing industry. Shouldn’t they be refunding the fans who paid extra to get into soundcheck?”
The backlash comes as BTS recently started their ARIRANG world tour, following the release of their new album after a four-year break. The group has been under intense scrutiny since their comeback, and this latest controversy adds fuel to ongoing debates about their live performances.
