BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Past Struggles Resurface Amid Brother’s Controversy

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is facing backlash as accusations against her brother, Kim Jung Hoon, continue to pile up.

The controversy began when Jisoo’s agency, BLISSOO, released an official statement on April 20, KST, denying any connection between the idol and her brother’s alleged crimes. The statement emphasized that Jisoo has lived independently from her family since her trainee days and has had no involvement in her brother’s life.

As the situation unfolded, netizens dug up a 2018 video where Jisoo shared a childhood story about how she got a scar on her forehead from a prank by her brother. She explained that her brother tricked her into climbing a playground structure by telling her the smoke from a pesticide truck could kill her. Trusting him, she climbed up but hit her head on a railing, leaving a scar.

Jisoo recalled she was only five years old and bleeding badly. When she told her brother, he shrugged it off and told her to keep climbing. She waited on top of the structure until the truck passed, then walked home still bleeding. Her family cleaned and bandaged the wound but never took her to a hospital.

The idol also revealed:

“Because of that, I’ve suffered quite a few serious injuries over the years,”

referring to her mother never taking her to the hospital when she was hurt.

Fans quickly reacted to the resurfaced clip, sparking discussions about the atmosphere in Jisoo’s family home. Many expressed concern over the troubling family dynamics implied by the story.

Despite Jisoo’s agency denying any link between her and her brother’s alleged crimes, the accusations continue to affect the idol’s public image.
