BLACKPINK Jisoo’s Brother Accused in Sexual Assault Case Involving Female Streamer

BLACKPINK is facing backlash after reports surfaced that the older brother of member Jisoo was arrested on sexual assault charges.

The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on April 16 that a man in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, was caught in the act and is under investigation for forced molestation. Mr. A allegedly bought a “date ticket” from a female streamer, met her for a meal and drinks, then took her to his home where he made unwanted physical contact. The streamer also accused him of attempting sexual assault.

A “date ticket” is typically a prize given to high donors on live streams, granting a chance to dine with the streamer. Mr. A reportedly paid ₩3.00 million KRW (about $2,030 USD) for this ticket. The streamer said Mr. A promised no sexual advances during the invitation to his home but broke that promise. It was also reported that he drove under the influence after dinner. Police arrested him after knocking on his door.

“He promised that he would not have any sexual contact with me. I already rejected him several times, but he forced physical contact and also tried to sexually assault me.”

The controversy began when Korean news outlet Channel A used a blurred thumbnail of Jisoo and her brother, sparking viral rumors that the accused is Jisoo’s brother. Fans quickly recognized the image despite the blur and reacted with shock online.

As the situation unfolded, it was revealed this is not Mr. A’s first offense. He was previously accused of secretly filming employees without their consent.
