CRAVITY’s Woobin confirmed to star as lead in musical Caffeine
CRAVITY’s Woobin is set to return to the musical stage, confirmed as the male lead in the romantic comedy musical ‘Caffeine’.
Starship Entertainment officially announced Woobin’s casting, revealing he will portray the character Jimin. The musical is scheduled to open on August 20 at Daehakro The Good Theater.
‘Caffeine’ has been a fixture in the Daehakro theater scene since its premiere in 2008 and is known as a representative romantic comedy. The story follows a barista named Sejin and a sommelier named Jimin who share a single cafe, operating it during the day and night respectively, which leads to a love story between the two.
As a two-person play, ‘Caffeine’ places significant emphasis on strong acting skills and vocal performances. Woobin is expected to deliver delicate emotional portrayals and stable vocals to enhance the audience’s immersion. Fans can also anticipate him performing numbers across diverse genres, including bossa nova, jazz, and acoustic styles, all imbued with his unique artistic color.
As CRAVITY‘s main vocalist, Woobin has consistently been recognized for his exceptional vocal power and sweet, resonant tone. He has also participated in songwriting, composing, and producing for his group. His diverse range of cover content has further demonstrated his ability to master various musical genres.
This upcoming role marks Woobin’s second venture into musicals, following his debut in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ last year. His previous performance earned him critical acclaim for his stable acting and vocal delivery, building considerable anticipation for his return to the stage in ‘Caffeine’.
