IU postpones concerts and delays 6th full album amid worsening patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction
IU is postponing her scheduled concerts and delaying the release of her 6th full-length album due to worsening patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction.
On July 21, her agency EDAM Entertainment announced a schedule change affecting upcoming concerts and the album release.
EDAM Entertainment said:
We have decided to adjust the schedule for the concerts following the Goyang Stadium performance that had been planned for September, as well as the release schedule for IU’s 6th full-length album.
The company said the move came after IU’s chronic patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction worsened. The condition occurs when the Eustachian tube, which connects the middle ear to the back of the nose, remains abnormally open, causing persistent discomfort and hearing-related symptoms.
EDAM Entertainment added:
The artist’s condition is not severe enough to interfere with her daily life. However, this decision was made so she can present her performances in the best possible condition
The company also promised support:
We will fully support the artist’s recovery and do our best to ensure IU can return to her fans in good health
IU addressed fans on the communication platform Berriz, saying the Goyang Stadium concert could no longer move forward.
IU said:
The symptoms of my patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction have been getting worse,
She continued:
The symptoms continue day and night, and I keep finding it difficult to regain my vocal condition whenever I sing
Although she has already completed recording her new album, IU explained that performing live is currently another matter.
IU said:
My daily life isn’t greatly affected, but I’ve been told that holding concerts for the time being would be too much
She expressed regret about not being able to keep a promise to fans:
My heart feels heavy, and I’m so sorry that I don’t think I’ll be able to keep my promise of holding concerts with my 8th-generation fan club members during this period
In addition to the Goyang Stadium concert, her nationwide tour has also been postponed, and the release of her 6th full-length album will be delayed.
IU apologized again:

She reassured fans about her plans:
