YG Entertainment launches 2026 YG Global Audition, first large-scale search in two years

YG Entertainment has launched the ‘2026 YG Global Audition,’ its first large-scale worldwide talent search in two years.
The company announced the audition on July 22. The comprehensive process will run from July through December.
YG said the initiative aims to discover the next generation of K-pop artists who will follow in the footsteps of BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, and TREASURE. The agency said it is committed to nurturing new talent, identifying individuals poised to lead the K-pop industry and expand its influence across the international music market.
Prospective applicants born between 2008 and 2015 are eligible to participate. Aspiring idols can showcase their strongest talents in one of six distinct categories: singing, rapping, dancing, visual, acting, or a special skill.
The global journey for potential stars commenced on July 19 in Beijing, China. The audition schedule includes visits to Chengdu on July 25, Shanghai on August 1, and Shenzhen on August 9.
Simultaneously, the search extends to Japan, with auditions scheduled for Tokyo on August 9 and Osaka on September 20.
From October to December, YG plans to visit a wide array of international locations, including the USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, alongside other global regions. This broad sweep ensures talent from diverse backgrounds gets an opportunity to showcase their skills.
