Award-Winning K-Drama Star Leaves Acting to Work in Home Cleaning Instead

Choi Kang Hee shockingly revealed she quit acting and took on jobs as a waitress and house cleaner during a recent TV appearance.
The longtime actress, active since 1995 and known for hits like Whispering Corridors, Protect the Boss, and Hello, Me!, vanished from the spotlight after 2021. Fans wondered what happened.
She opened up on MBC’s Point of Omniscient Interfere. Choi said she changed her phone number and told her manager to stop sending scripts when she quit acting three years ago. Her family supported her decision.
“I was unhappy despite my 25-year career. I wanted to try different things to figure out what really was my calling,” Choi explained.
She went back to school to become a broadcast writer and learned editing. She also did part-time work washing dishes at a restaurant.
