Shim Hyung Tak fights with wife Hirai Saya

Shim Hyung Tak is facing backlash after an old TV clip showed how heated his fights with wife Hirai Saya can get.

The resurfaced 2024 Channel A broadcast of Trendy Men’s Lifestyle had Shim admitting,

“We fight pretty intensely,”

He described a recent fight that got so bad he just got out of the car and left her to go home alone—no resolution at the moment.

He said they eventually made up after Saya reached out first, but viewers are not buying it.

The controversy started especially because Hirai Saya is 18 years younger and moved from Japan to Korea for him.

Fellow cast member Kangnam called out Shim for yelling at his wife, saying it’s not right given her sacrifices.

Shim snapped back on-air,

“Then you shouldn’t be saying a word to Sang Hwa either.”

He then asked Kangnam if he ever raised his voice at his wife. Kangnam said,

“Are you crazy? What are you even talking about?”

And Shim replied,

“Really? You’ve never raised your voice??”
