The agency thanked Yuri for her contributions to the global K-pop wave as a member of Girls’ Generation since her debut in 2007.

SM also stated that Yuri will continue to take part in Girls’ Generation group activities and that her departure will not affect the group’s future plans.

Yuri is the most recent member of Girls’ Generation to depart SM. Sooyoung, Tiffany, and Seohyun left the agency in 2017, while Jessica departed in 2014. Taeyeon, Sunny, Hyoyeon, and Yoona had remained with the agency until recently.
