BTS’s ‘Butter’ music video surpasses 1.1 billion YouTube views
BTS‘s music video for the digital single “Butter” crossed 1.1 billion views on YouTube, becoming the group’s seventh video to pass the billion-view mark.
According to their agency Big Hit Music, the milestone was reached on the morning of June 27.
“Butter” was released in May 2021 and is BTS’s second English-language single, following “Dynamite.”
The track debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on June 5, 2021, marking BTS’s tenth time topping the chart and it stayed on the chart for 20 weeks.
On release, the “Butter” video hit 10 million views in 13 minutes and reached 100 million views within 21 hours.
BTS’s other billion-view videos include “Dynamite” with over 2.1 billion views, “Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey)” with 1.9 billion, “DNA” with 1.6 billion, “MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)” with 1.5 billion, and both “FAKE LOVE” and “IDOL” with 1.3 billion views each.
BTS is currently on their world tour titled “Arirang.” They are set to perform at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 1 and 2.
Those numbers and “Butter”‘s ongoing success reflect the group’s major influence on the global music scene and secure their place as one of K-pop’s most impactful acts worldwide.
