MONSTA X’s Kihyun releases English version of So Good ahead of North American tour
MONSTA X’s Kihyun released an English version of ‘So Good’ on global streaming services on July 24, his agency Starship Entertainment said.
The new English cut follows the song’s original July 7 release as the title track of his second mini album, ‘BORDERLINE’.
The track is a rock-based number driven by gradually building guitar lines and Kihyun’s expressive vocals. Fans praised the recording for its soaring high notes and the explosive energy that arrives in the latter half.
After the album dropped, ‘BORDERLINE’ caught attention from Forbes, which described the album as a work that
“delivers empathy and resonance through a journey of discovering one’s true self rather than searching for the ‘right’ answer.”
The outlet also pointed to Kihyun’s range, noting his ability to seamlessly navigate alternative rock, pop rock, R&B and modern band sounds.
Internationally, the mini album reached No. 21 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart. It also topped the iTunes Top 100 K-pop Album Chart in five countries, including Australia, Finland and the Netherlands, and placed in the top five in 12 countries, including the United States, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan and Mexico.
Kihyun promoted ‘So Good’ on music shows over the past two weeks, drawing fan praise for stable live vocals and expressive stage work.
The English version keeps the original mood but uses completely different English lyrics, delivering a fresh take on the same melody.
Kihyun said through his agency:
“I’m happy to finally share the English version of ‘So Good’,” “When I first heard the original demo, I really loved its vibe and wanted to share a version that captured that feeling. Although it has the same melody, the lyrics tell a completely different story, so I think you’ll be able to experience a different atmosphere and charm. I hope you’ll give the English version lots of love as well. Thank you!”
Meanwhile, MONSTA X is currently touring on its ‘2026 MONSTA X WORLD TOUR [THE X : NEXUS]’, with the North American leg scheduled to begin in October.
